People with dementia and their carers can now sign up for a new NHS remote monitoring service offering increased support during Covid-19
The TIHM Monitoring Service is a new, free of charge NHS service to remotely monitor the health and wellbeing of both people with dementia and their carers who live in Surrey during Covid-19.
It is based on an award-winning system that combines easy to use remote monitoring devices installed in homes with a dedicated and clinically led Monitoring Team to reassure people about their health, alert them to potential health issues and, where necessary, ensure they receive prompt treatment and support. It is offered by local NHS provider, Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and smart home monitoring provider, Howz, in partnership with Surrey County Council and Surrey Heartlands Health and Care Partnership. Who can receive the TIHM Monitoring Service?
- Anyone with a diagnosis of dementia who lives at home in Surrey
- If the person with dementia has a regular carer, they can apply to receive the service too
- The service is not available to people who live in care homes
